Leisure Piano

This route is mainly for students age 13 and above. For children courses, please click our “Children Courses” link.

Want to learn a simple piece quickly* for a special occasion? Or you want to pick up a piano playing? This route will inspire a student to learn at their own pace and practice regime**. This course divides itself into 3 levels – Beginner, Early Intermediate and Late Intermediate.

The key outcome is for students to learn and master the concepts of piano playing – such as basic techniques, ear training, sight-reading, basic improvisation and modern chord concepts/progressions. Of course, you can choose to take this course too if you have a background (i.e. completed some grades) and want to explore music improvisation leisurely for your personal enjoyment. You will be introduced to modern chord progressions, chord extensions/inversions, accompaniment styles, ad-lib improvisations, further ear training, and performance recording opportunities.

Music lessons are conducted individually and tailored towards a pace that caters mostly to teenagers and adults. Genres for leisure courses usually include pop, ballads, new-age, ‘jazzy’ tunes, etc. Students are also given an option if they will like switch to the examination routes to challenge themselves! There is also a 5 lesson course provided for GarageBand music production! Contact Us to find out more!

*Crash course or short-term lessons are tailored based on the student’s learning ability. The piece chosen by the student is subjected to the coach/teacher’s assessment in terms of its difficulty level, student’s commitment, as well as a rough learning duration required.
**The progress of learning largely boils down to the student’s consistency in practicing. Don’t rush yourself and set reasonable goals to master any form of arts; even if it is a crash course or shortterm lessons.
